International Print Center New York is pleased to announce the awardees of our first New Prints Artist Development Initiative.nea artist announcement
As part our ongoing effort to deepen the value that the New Prints program offers exhibiting artists, the 97 artists on view in JUST UNDER 100: New Prints 2017/Summer were invited to apply for three opportunities to receive further training, guidance, and exposure for their printmaking practice: an artist residency program, artist mentorship program, and sponsored coursework.
Below are the awardees:
Artist Residency Program: Ernesto Ortiz Leyva
Ernesto will spend a month in IPCNY’s new workshop space and EFA Robert Blackburn Printmaking Workshop deepening his work in etching. During his residency, Ernesto will engage with the public at IPCNY, culminating in a small display of new work in our workshop space. Stay tuned for updates!
Artist Mentorship Program: Golnar Adili
Golnar will be paired with a mentor in the field of printmaking who will provide critical feedback, guidance, and advice for developing her mixed media prints and furthering her career.
Coursework Program: Alejandro Waskavich
Alejandro will branch out from his work in linocuts by taking etching classes at a workshop in Chicago, IL., sponsored by IPCNY.
This program was made possible, in part, through grants by the National Endowment for the Arts and the New York State Council on the Arts.
Their prints are on view in JUST UNDER 100: New Prints 2017/Summer.
