January
30, 2003
International
Print Center New York announces the seventh presentation of its
New Prints Program from Thursday, February 6th through Wednesday,
March 12th in its Chelsea gallery at 526 West 26th Street. New
Prints 2003/Winter is one of a series of juried exhibitions organized
by IPCNY, presenting current prints by both established and emerging
artists.
With
New Prints 2003/Winter, IPCNY continues its rotating presentations
of current prints, establishing an ongoing venue for the viewing
of contemporary artists' prints and a central source of information
about artists working in the medium of printmaking. For New Prints
2003/Winter, the Selections Committee, which changes with each
New Prints exhibition, was comprised of the following members:
Ann Fensterstock, collector and educator; Joseph Goddu, Director,
Hirschl & Adler Galleries Inc.; Laura Steward Heon, Curator,
MASS MoCA; Faye Hirsch, writer and critic; Leonard Lehrer, Dean,
Fine and Performing Arts, Columbia College, Chicago; and Judith
Solodkin, Master Printer and Director, SOLO Impression, New York.
An essay by Faye Hirsch offers curatorial comment on the exhibition.
Sandra Lang continues in her role as consultant to the program.
IPCNY
received some 1,000 submissions for New Prints 2003/Winter, all

Sikkema Editions, and Leroy Neiman Center for Print Studies, all
of New York City; The Lawrence Lithography Workshop, Kansas City,
