Statement
These
prints are celebrations of anecdotes. Sometimes disguised as ephemera,
these very literal interpretations of actual incidents are monuments to
relationships and patterns and occasions often unnoticed.
Biography
Liz
Zanis graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design with a B.F.A in
Illustration. Currently, she resides at her father's childhood home in
Maspeth, NY.
Her hobbies include eavesdropping, collecting her family's anecdotes,
collecting other family's anecdotes, looking for patterns, and chatting
with strangers. With her portable bookmaking studio in tow, Zanis spends
her nights and weekends wrestling silkscreens and printing tiny prints
which may or may not become limited edition artist's books.
Zanis' books have been exhibited at two libraries, one print studio, one
workshop, one Flux Factory, one print center, and one center for the arts.
