NEW PRINTS PROGRAM

International Print Center New York's New Prints Program  was created to bring artists' prints of the highest quality from the widest possible range of sources to the attention of the viewing public. By establishing this unique and ongoing forum for exhibiting prints by artists at all stages of their careers, IPCNY continues its work to enlarge audiences for the visual arts.

Four New Prints exhibitions are presented per year in IPCNY's space at 508 W 26th Street in the Chelsea district in Manhattan. With the opening of this space in September 2000, IPCNY created a permanent, non-commercial open venue for artists, emerging and established, to submit their most recent prints for public exhibition. Submissions to the New Prints Program are particularly encouraged from small and community based presses and from new publishers and artists who would greatly profit from the opportunity for broader public access to their work.

In order to achieve an informed and impartial selection of work of the highest quality representing a variety of artistic styles and techniques, each New Prints exhibition is juried by a Selections Committee appointed by IPCNY. The composition of the committee varies for each round of submissions, and is made up of six individuals representing a variety of disciplines within the visual arts community including museum curators, art professionals, master printers, artists, critics and collectors.

IPCNY's New Prints presentations have established IPCNY as a unique destination for the viewing of artists' prints, and a central source of information about artists working in the medium of printmaking.
