EDUCATION

EDUCATION FOR THE GENERAL PUBLIC

Through the participation of artists, master printers and curators in gallery and studio talks, IPCNY generates a lively dialogue on the subject of prints and printmaking.

In November 2009, IPCNY organized IPCNY TALKS, a series of 8 artist and printmaker talks at the Editions/Artists' Books fair at the X-Initiative space in Chelsea. To view a complete schedule of
the Program for IPCNY TALKS, free and open to the public, click here. Click here for images.

Information resources are available to the public at IPCNY, as well as on-line, including biographical
and technical information about the artists and works on view in the gallery, and listings of
print shows and workshop opportunities.

IPCNY's members, museum and student groups, and others with a special interest in learning about prints, are invited to IPCNY for exhibitions and educaitonal events.

EDUCATION FOR SCHOOL GROUPS

The New York City Department of Education's arts curriculum Blueprint for Teaching and Learning
in the Arts identifies Printmaking as one of the seven arts that students are required to learn
about. IPCNY offers educational programs aligned with The Blueprint for elementary, middle and high school classes, to help your students expand their visual literacy skills.

During the 2009-2010 school year, IPCNY offered The Future Printmakers' Workshop which was
designed to engage students in the study of prints and printmaking. The workshop was tailored
to the class level of the students attending.

Teachers are welcome to make an appointment to bring their students to the IPCNY Gallery whenever
an exhibition is on view, before or during gallery hours (11 am - 6 pm)

Please call Stephanie Trejo at 212-989-5090 or email stephanie@ipcny.org for more information and to schedule a visit.
