Artist's Statement
The ritual of the printing process is physically demanding and invigorating. I begin each print with a plate completely covered in ink. I work through a subtractive process: by wiping, scraping, and diluting the ink, the images appear and disappear. I balance intention and accident while allowing spontaneous events to occur. The surprise of the reversed print compels me to explore further and repeat this continuum of revision.
The bardo is a transitional and [liminal] consciousness between awake and asleep, living and dying, and light and dark.
