Miguel Aragón, Sandra Fernandez, and Marco Hernandez featured in 'ACTIVATE' at University of Texas San Antonio

New Prints artists and jurors Miguel Aragón, Sandra Fernandez, and Marco Hernandez are all included in ACTIVATE, a group show “explor[ing] the history and consequences of social injustice across many cultures.”

Miguel Aragón was one of the jurors of Edging Forward: New Prints 2018/Winter, which Marco Hernandez was included in. Sandra Fernandez was part of Multilayered: New Prints 2018/Summer.

The exhibition was curated by Humberto Saenz, and other artists in the exhibition are Aaron Coleman, Annalise Gratovich, Kristin Powers Nowlin, and Patricia Villalobos Echeverria.

MIGUEL ARAGON, ERNESTO ORTIZ LEYVA, JOHN HITCHCOCK, AND MICHAEL MENCHACA IN "MIGRATING HERITAGE" AT CUNY CSI

"Migrating Heritage", curated by Miguel Aragón (New Prints 2018/Winter juror and previous New Prints artist) opens on Thursday, February 22, at the Art Gallery of the College of Staten Island.

Featuring New Prints artists Ernesto Ortiz Leyva (2017/Summer), John Hitchcock (2007/Summer and other exhibitions at IPCNY), and Michael Menchaca (2013/Summer and 2017/Summer), plus Annalise Gratovich of Flatbed Press, this group exhibition is a collection of works based on immigration and cultural heritage. The showcased artists utilize personal narratives and iconography to represent their own experiences and ideas on settlement and heritage.
